01 · How it works

GESY physiotherapy, in plain words

GESY covers physiotherapy when you have a referral from a doctor. Usually your personal doctor issues it. After surgery or a fracture, your surgeon first enrols you in a special GESY registry, and after that your personal doctor issues the referrals.

You pay a €10 co-payment per session. Each referral covers 3 or 6 sessions, and the total number of sessions per year depends on your diagnosis. With your referral you can book with any GESY-registered physiotherapist you choose.

Physiotherapy at home

Home visits are not included in GESY physiotherapy services. Sessions take place at our clinic, on the ground floor with a street-level entrance.

02 · Step by step

From referral to your last session

Four simple steps. If you already have a referral, start from step two.

01
Step 1 · Doctor

Get a referral

From your personal doctor, or from your surgeon after surgery or a fracture. The referral is registered electronically in the GESY system.

02
Step 2 · Appointment

Book with us

Call 96 666 081 or send a WhatsApp message. Tell us what the referral is for, so we can book you with the right physiotherapist.

03
Step 3 · Assessment

Your first session

We assess the problem, start treatment and explain the plan: how many sessions we expect you to need and what to do at home.

04
Step 4 · Follow-up

Sessions and a new referral

When the sessions on your referral are used up and you need more, your doctor can issue a new one, within the limit for your diagnosis.

Good to know

If you need more sessions than GESY covers, you can continue privately. We tell you early, so we can plan it together and your treatment is not interrupted.

GESY rules change from time to time. Last checked: September 2026. For your own case, ask us or call the GESY Service Centre on 17000.
